Data we collect

We process information required to operate Lightchalk, including account and device identifiers, company and project memberships, buildings, rooms, wall dimensions, technical elements, notes, uploaded project files, images, PDF/DXF documents, proposal history, authorization records, and security and operational logs.

How we use data

We use this information to provide the service, synchronize devices, display and modify authorized projects, connect external assistants securely, detect and resolve errors, protect accounts, and maintain audit and security records.

ChatGPT and connected assistants

When you use Lightchalk through ChatGPT or another connected assistant, only data required for the specific tool call is returned after authorization. Processing by OpenAI or another assistant provider is governed by that provider’s terms and privacy settings.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with service providers or connected assistants where necessary to provide requested functionality, operate infrastructure, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations.

Retention

Project data is retained while the relevant account or project remains active, unless deletion is requested or a longer period is required by law or contract. OAuth access tokens expire automatically; refresh tokens are rotated and may be revoked. Security and operational logs are retained only as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and audit purposes.

User controls

Users can revoke assistant connections in Chalk. Authorized organization administrators can manage project access. Where applicable under GDPR, users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or data portability.
